Formed in 2005 in Vancouver, BC, Earlstown Winter is a wistful, yearning, country rock band steeped in the tradition of melodic songwriting about love, loss and late night drinking. With an incredible live show backed by an amazing debut record, Earlstown Winter is one of the most exciting new bands to appear on the music scene in years. After the demise of the previous indie-rock band Selvatone, lead singer/songwriter, Jonathan Truefitt, began writing reflective earthy songs with an acoustic country tone and set about the recording of a classic sounding roots record with Selvatone drummer and Worn Records founder, John Simmonds. That record became “Easy Roads, Easy Skies”, an album reminiscent of music by The Band, Neil Young, and the Eagles and also included styles similar to that of The Replacements.

When the record was finally completed in 2005, it was played to friends and fellow musicians, and it wasn’t long before a full band was put together. Earlstown Winter has been playing explosive live shows ever since, complimenting the brilliant debut record.

Influenced by bands like the Jayhawks and Whiskeytown, Earlstown Winter is more than just a country rock band, and definitely not to be missed.
