Ahhh James Blunt. Can Christopher Walken please read for all of these songs, or at least do another Fatboy Slim music video? Add William Shatner in there too, I'd like to hear the two of them telling each either "You're Beautiful" in such a deadpan tone.

So you prefer simple songs to have a simple "orchestration" (no more instruments than necessary) -- keeps it more personal, maybe?

I don't know if I can agree that instruments that play "dumbed down" music is really a bad thing, but I think you make the same point. I'll agree that most rap music is pretty lame -- a dude sits at hits lap top, hits some buttons on a beat tracker, and bang its something to rap to. K.I.S.S. is good, I like it when music is kept really simple. Besides the larger the orchestration, the simpler each individual instrument has to play so it doesn't just sound like a jumble of virtuosos trying to play over one another. This is what I think you're getting at when you say "overly complex."

Inspite of the fact that I think James Blunt can go suck a fat willy, I don't think his songs would be any better if the music were more complex. Instead of sounding like a lame tune with simple orchestration, you'd get a lamer tune because it would be trying to make this cheezy ass instrumental appeal.
